Walking by the Lake

Whether you enjoy walking about, working out or taking part in games of ability or amusement, Homecrest House is sure to have something that helps make your day fun and fulfilling. The quality of its surroundings and facilities is matched only by the quantity of activities offered to residents; there really is something here for everyone.

Strolling the grounds of our 10-acre park-like campus at your own pace is the favorite of many. We have walking paths that are perfect for exercise, a meditation session or just taking in the scenery. Residents can relax on our conveniently located benches, soak up the tranquility surrounding our half acre pond or enjoy playing a little shuffle board. And even when you head back inside, a seat in the glass-enclosed promenade provides a wonderful vantage point to see the pond and natural beauty of the grounds.

The Homecrest House Resident Van, equipped with wheel chair access, makes frequent stops at nearby stores and banks, and takes residents to places of interest and popular spots throughout the Washington and Baltimore region. Our seniors enjoy the on-site convenience of a Beauty Salon/Barber Shop, convenience store and mobile post office.

We provide quality health-related resources on a regular basis; those services include:

  • Visiting physicians (dentist, podiatrist & dermatologist)
  • Blood pressure screenings
  • Rehabilitation services
  • Full-time on-site Resident Services Manager providing resident services and assistance

It's the pleasure of our full-time Activities Director to offer you a schedule of recreational options throughout the day. The list is a comprehensive one; here are just a few facilities our residents enjoy:

  • Fitness center staffed by trainer
  • Arts & Crafts room
  • Pool table & dart board area
  • Computer lab with instructor
  • Library
  • 200-seat Social hall with state-of-the-art audio & video equipment and performance stage
